About Aaron

A native of Rock Hill, South Carolina, tenor Aaron McKone has been recognized as a “rising star” and praised for his “ardent tenor.”  Committed to the emotional and transformative power of the operatic voice, he brings vibrant color and visceral authenticity to the stage, aiming to create experiences that resonate with every audience member.

Aaron is thrilled to return to Utah Opera as a Resident Artist for the 2025-2026 season. There, he will be very active in Utah Opera’s mainstage performances, singing Bill Watson and Lloyd in Paul Moravec’s The Shining, Jaquino in Fidelio, Gastone in La Traviata, as well as covering the role of Nemorino in The Elixir of Love. Aaron will also be the tenor soloist in Utah Symphony’s performances of Messiah and their annual Access to Music concert.

In past seasons, Aaron has been a member of the Apprentice Program for Singers at The Santa Fe Opera, a Resident Artist at Utah Opera, a Studio Artist at Wolf Trap Opera, a Resident Artist at Opera Naples, and a Vocal Fellow at the Spoleto Festival USA.
